

The hyperactive plot involves a MacGuffin called the Incal the book's twists and turns are sometimes incomprehensible and sometimes tiresome – and there's a bit too much spiritual waffle along the way – but the "Jodoverse" is an inspired creation, and the pair render it quite brilliantly.
